Benefits of Email Marketing vs RSS: Who Would Win?

Do you know the benefits of email marketing? They’re HUGE! If you’re not collecting names and email addresses and building your list every single day, well…Your business is a mess. Seriously. ~ And you’re leaving a lot of money on the table. Here’s how to get it back. }

Listen, everyone knows that my specialties are blogging and SEO. I love both fields of interest very much, but blogging has always been close to my heart since the day I started. That was way back in 1999 (Internet ancient history time) when Blogger was first launched. And one question that folks always bring up with me is why do I need an optin form? I have RSS! These folks obviously do not know the benefits of email marketing, do they?~(If they did, they would be making a lot more money.) }

RSS is great, don’t get me wrong. People have a way to be notified when you’ve written something new in your blog and having a large readership is important or why bother, right? I agree with you there. But you still need that all-important optin box and if there’s a way to get it above your RSS feed link, that’s where you should have it. Why? Because the benefits of email marketing far outweigh the benefits of RSS.  ~ Especially when it comes to making money with your copy.  }

With RSS subscribers, you can never send them email. In fact, you don’t even know who those people are, right? So, and here’s the kicker… YOU CAN NEVER MARKET TO THEM. Ever. But here’s the b-i-g difference: Once you have a subscriber signed up for your autoresponder list, you CAN. In fact, you can write to your list once a day, and that’s one more opportunity a day you have to bond with your list and make some additional cash.

That’s it! Now, you can send them a great follow-up series of emails that is content rich. You can bond with those folks, and when you recommend a product to them, they’ll be more inclined to buy because now, you have made them trust you. HUGE benefit of email marketing, people.  Edit this text

So, here’s the deal: Love your RSS feed. Be happy to see subscribers who are reading your stuff. But never neglect to collect those all-important names and email addresses so that you can see the benefits of email marketing for yourself! Once you do, you’ll never want to go back!
