All You Need To Know About Standard Web Design Rates

Web design rates can be confusing at times. If you have used website designers before, you have probably noticed that some designers quote a higher price and others quote a lower price for their designs.  So what is a good rate for designing a website?
Unquestionably, there are many designers offering their services for web pages. Their rates will vary depending on where you are getting the service. An ‘offshore’ designer usually offers a lower rate than your local designer. This is just one major factor that affects the cost of the design.
The second thing that dictates the rate you may pay for a design is the type of site that will be built. Websites can be classified into three categories, each category with a specific rate. Identifying the correct category for your prospective internet site will give you an idea of what your project will cost.

Low Cost Websites

As the name implies, the least expensive websites are the simplest and cheapest sites anyone can get. It may cost you as little as a few hundred dollars from freelance web designers or an ‘offshore’ designer. You need to be realistic and do not expect to have an elaborate site. What you typically get is a plain HTML page and a few basic graphics.
If you are on a small budget and yet really need to have an online presence regardless of how it may look, then a low cost site is probably your only option. This type may serve you well as a personal site for you or your family.
Low cost websites are usually not acceptable for businesses, so do not expect to make any money from this type of internet site.  People might see it as questionable due to the simplicity of its looks.

Moderate Cost Websites

If you anticipate making money online, a mid cost website could definitely be good for you. This type has a good balance between cost and quality, so you can get a quality design for a reasonable price. Small business and niche business websites usually fall into this category.
Mid range sites are neither cheap nor expensive. The web design rates for this may range from as low as $500 for a template style to several thousand dollars for a complete custom design. Most web design companies offer services for this type of site, which will give you a lot of companies from which to choose. When scouting for a design company for your project, be sure you know what services you will get for a particular rate package and choose a company that offers the most services for that cost.

Premium Websites

Premium websites are professional internet sites and undoubtedly the most expensive ones to build. The price can range from $10,000 to $100,000 on up. At this rate, you will have numerous professional web designers and experts working on every aspect of your site.
Premium sites are essential for big businesses and companies with large internet budgets. If you are looking for a quality internet presence guaranteed to be a success, then this type is the answer to your needs.
You can see that knowing the requirements of your website will help you select web design rates within which you can select a designer/design company for your internet needs.
